E-safety – keeping your child safe online
As a school, we recognise the need to educate and support children so that they are able to use the internet in a safe and informed manner. The following resources are to support parents in this fast – moving area where your child needs constant monitoring and support if they are to use online resources safely and appropriately.
Online resources
The Government has launched a new website to support parents. The website has been developed by Parentzone and CEOP – the police command responsible for child exploitation and online protection.
Parentinfo is a collection of articles, tips, expert advice and resources designed to help parents keep up with what their children are doing on-line. For example, the site currently includes information about staying safe on Minecraft, mental health and building online resilience.

The NCA’s CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) Command is here to help children and young people. We are here to help if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world. We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking. Visit our Safety Centre for advice and to report directly to CEOP, by clicking on the Click CEOP link.
Cyber Sense
CyberSense is a new E-safety app designed to help parents talk about e-safety issues with their children to ensure that they make smart choices to stay safe online. Aimed at children aged between 8-10 it will help them think about what they would do if they were faced with different situations online; from cyberbullying to sharing content with someone they don’t know.
